Power Management

INPOWER’s objective is to conserve energy through effective power management and efficient metering. INPOWER is also a registered vendor and reseller of electricity with its own prepaid vending system.

Power Management

The Power Management of electrical services includes the following:

  • INPOWER will assess/evaluate the energy consumption of a building, complex, business park, etc.
  • INPOWER will advise on Energy Saving Measures.
  • INPOWER will advise of the necessary check metering to be installed in order to:
    • Check the correctness of Eskom / Supply Authority’s meter
    • Provide accurate reconciliation of all electricity consumed.
    • Prevent under-recovery of electricity consumed
    • Allow for the analysis of load profiles and consumption patterns.
    • Accurately determine the amount of energy consumed by the consumer.
    • Reduce financial loss due to inefficient metering and inadequate energy management.
  • INPOWER will reconcile the Supply Authority invoice to electricity consumed.
  • INPOWER may also, on instruction of the client, liaise with third parties for the installation of metering and energy saving equipment
Metering

The Metering of electrical services includes the following:

  • To determine the quantity of electricity consumed by each consumer (tenant).
  • To process an accurate account of the tenant's electricity consumption.
  • To ensure the accuracy of the metering of the electricity consumption.
  • To detect and rectify any inaccurate measurements.
  • To collect the tenant's payment of his/her account.
  • To perform credit control.
  • To check the correctness of the Supply Authority's account and to ensure that any errors on the account are rectified by the Supply Authority.
  • To ensure that the most favourable tariff structure (in favour of the Landlord) is applied by the Supply Authority.
  • To keep abreast of changing tariffs.
  • To promptly settle the Supply Authority's account.
  • To attend to all tenant queries regarding his/her electrical services account.
  • To perform regular audits on the metering installation of a complex.
The Advantages to Landlords
  • INPOWER will accept responsibility for the recovery of all electricity services.
  • INPOWER will perform regular checks to verify the correctness of the calculations, metering installations and tariffs.
  • INPOWER will periodically audit the Supply Authority's account for correctness.
  • INPOWER will stay up to date on any tariff changes and implement new tariffs promptly.
  • INPOWER will manage the collection of tenant payments as well as the payment of Supply Authority's account.
  • INPOWER will charge a monthly service fee

The service is provided to the Landlord at no cost, If INPOWER is appointed as the reseller of electricity on the property.

The Advantages to Tenants

In the case of Pre-Payment Electrical Metering, the consumer has control of the cost of their electricity.

  • INPOWER will attend to all consumer electricity-related queries.
  • INPOWER provides technical assistance related to electricity services.

The consumer is charged the official tariff for the electricity service as laid down by the relevant

Genset management
The Generator Management Service offered by INPOWER will include the following:
  • Weekly no load tests and inspections
  • Load test (every three months)
  • Annual service
  • Facilitating all necessary repairs
  • Responding to, and facilitating the repair of all generator related fault
